Fuss

Fuss Privacy Policy

DRAFT v0.1-draft-2026-10-30, pending review by the founder and a lawyer. Items in [brackets] are not filled in yet. It will be replaced before launch.

This policy explains how Fuss handles your personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Your Wisely account (sign-in, payments, notifications) is also covered by the Wisely privacy policy.

1. Who we are

Fuss (fuss.thewisely.club) is operated by JianBo Liu, trading as Wisely International (ABN 50 902 109 432), Melbourne, Australia ("we", "us"). Sign-in, payments and notifications are handled by the Wisely account service, which we also operate. Privacy contact: privacy@thewisely.club.

2. What we collect

Account details from your Wisely account: your Wisely ID, email address and, if you gave them, your name and phone number.

Your case: what happened, your timeline, the other side’s name and contact details, what you want (including amounts and your private bottom line), and your answers in the wizard.

Evidence you upload: photos, video, audio, receipts, chat screenshots, documents and notes.

Letters: drafts, the letters you send, and the replies you receive at your case email address, including the full original email and its headers.

Payments: your rate, deposit and fees. Your card is saved by Stripe through the Wisely account service; we only see the card brand and last four digits.

Technical: the cookies that keep you signed in, your language choice (kept in your browser) and server logs.

3. Sensitive information

Complaints often involve sensitive information: racial or ethnic origin, religion, health information (including medical and counselling records), sexual orientation, and police, criminal-justice or criminal-record matters.

We collect sensitive information only with your consent, which we ask for separately before you describe your case, and only what is reasonably necessary for your complaint (APP 3). Please leave out sensitive details your complaint does not need.

4. Information about other people

Your case will usually include information about other people, such as staff of the organisation you complain about, witnesses or police officers. Only include what your complaint needs. Do not upload information about children unless it is essential. Our review removes children’s identities and private individuals’ details from anything that is made public.

5. Why we use it

To help you organise your complaint, draft letters, send the letters you confirm, receive and sort replies, remind you about follow-ups and escalation, calculate and collect your deposit and fees, review posts before anything is made public, keep the service secure, and meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use your case to advertise to you.

6. How we protect it

Your account of events, timeline descriptions, evidence notes and bottom-line amount are encrypted by our application (AES-256-GCM) before they are stored.

Evidence files and original emails are kept in private storage. They can only be opened through short-lived links that our server issues to you.

Browsers cannot read our database directly: every request goes through our server, which checks that the case is yours. Data is encrypted in transit. Our database and files are hosted by Supabase in Sydney, Australia.

Only staff who need to, for example to review a post before it is published, can see your case.

7. Who we share it with

The people you choose to write to. When you confirm a letter, it is sent in your name to that organisation or person, with the attachments you choose. They handle it under their own privacy policies, and a letter cannot be recalled once it is sent.

Media and public posts, only at the levels you choose and after our review. Public posts are de-identified. If you choose platform posting, the post is published on our Facebook page or Instagram account (Meta).

The Wisely account service: sign-in, email and SMS notifications, payments, and routing requests to our AI service.

Stripe: saving your card, charges and refunds.

Resend: sending and receiving your case emails.

Our AI service, which reads the text of your case to build your timeline, point out missing evidence, draft letters and sort replies. Currently this is DeepSeek; we plan to move to Claude (Anthropic). See section 8.

Supabase (database and file storage) and Fly.io (website hosting), both in Sydney, Australia.

Anyone else only when the law requires or allows it, for example a court order, or to lessen a serious threat to someone’s life, health or safety.

8. Sending information overseas (APP 8)

DeepSeek, our current AI service, processes the text of your case on servers outside Australia, in the People’s Republic of China. We do this only with your express consent. Because we rely on your consent, Fuss does not have to make sure DeepSeek handles your information in line with the APPs, and you may not be able to seek redress in Australia if it does not.

Anthropic (Claude), our planned AI service, is in the United States. Stripe, Resend and Meta process information in the United States and other countries. [Hosting location of the Wisely account service to be confirmed.]

Before we start sending your case to a different AI service, we will update this policy and ask for your consent again.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your case while your account is open, so you can come back to it.

If you delete your account, we delete all your Fuss data straight away (section 11). Backup copies are overwritten within [backup retention period].

Payment records held by the Wisely account service and Stripe are kept for as long as Australian tax law requires (generally 5 years).

10. Seeing and correcting your information

You can see and edit most of your case in Fuss. To get a copy of everything we hold about you, or to ask us to correct it, email privacy@thewisely.club. We will reply within 30 days.

Letters already sent and replies received are kept exactly as they were, as a record. If something in them is wrong, we can attach your correction to them.

11. Deleting your account

Go to Account and choose Delete account. This closes your Wisely account and permanently deletes everything in Fuss: cases, timelines, evidence files, drafts, the letters you sent and the replies you received (including original emails), and Fuss billing records. It cannot be undone.

Copies already held by the people you wrote to are outside our control. [To decide: whether posts on our Facebook page or Instagram account are removed when you delete your account.]

12. Cookies

We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in. Your language choice is stored in your browser. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

13. Data breaches

If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

14. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, email privacy@thewisely.club. We will reply within 30 days. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the OAIC: oaic.gov.au, phone 1300 363 992.

15. Changes

We will show you any new version of this policy. If a change affects how we use sensitive information or where we send it overseas, we will ask for your consent again.
